Los relés estáticos (SSR) de Crydom se utilizan mucho en aplicaciones en las que se deben controlar varios tipos de motores. Se utilizan para control de velocidad de motores de CA, inversión de marcha, arranque de motores, arranque y parada suaves de motores, así como contactores de arranque de motores monofásicos y trifásicos.
Los SSR de Crydom también se utilizan para controlar motores de CC. Los relés de CC también se pueden utilizar como interruptores, para inversión de marcha de motores de CC, o bien, con modulación PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) para controles de velocidad de motores de CC.
